Remulla son attends probe on drug case
MANILA, Philippines — The son of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla attended yesterday the preliminary hearing on the illegal drug importation case he is facing before the Pasay City prosecutor’s office.
Juanito Remulla III was charged with violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and RA 10863, otherwise known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
A report from dzBB said Remulla attended the court proceedings accompanied by his lawyers.
An examiner of the Bureau of Customs also attended the preliminary hearing.
Remulla did not give any statement to media.
He was arrested last month after he allegedly received a parcel containing P1.3 million worth of high-grade marijuana during a controlled delivery operation in Las Piñas City.
Remulla is also facing a complaint for possession of illegal drugs, which was raffled off yesterday to the Las Piñas Regional Trial Court Branch 197.
