SWAT officer accidentally fires gun in cemetery

MANILA, Philippines — A Special Weapons and Tactics officer accidentally discharged his long firearm at the entrance of the Manila North Cemetery yesterday.

The gunshot hit the pavement near the entrance of the cemetery, according to a dzBB report.

At least 44,046 visitors flocked to the Manila North Cemetery yesterday, the local government said.

About 225,261 people visited the Manila North Cemetery on Nov. 1. More than 42,000 people visited the cemetery on Oct. 31.

City hall said 27,750 people visited the Manila South Cemetery yesterday, down from 204,486 visitors on Tuesday.

The turnout of cemetery-goers was lower than the expected one million visitors during previous Undas celebrations at the Manila North Cemetery.
