MANILA, Philippines — The Manila government announced yesterday the reopening of the cemeteries in the city, including the Manila North and South cemeteries, starting today.

The cemeteries were closed on Saturday and Sunday due to the storm.

“This is the first Undas celebration since the pandemic. The city government’s directive is to make sure that the cemeteries are clean and the surroundings safe,” city hall said.

Minors aged 12 and below need to present their vaccination cards before entering the cemeteries.

A “no face mask, no entry” rule will be implemented in Manila cemeteries despite the easing of face mask mandate outdoors by the national government.

The Valenzuela government also announced the reopening of cemeteries in the city after these were closed on Saturday and Sunday due to Paeng.
