Cavite robbery: 3 cops face raps

Ed Amoroso - The Philippine Star

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Three policemen were among the nine persons facing criminal complaints in connection with a robbery in General Trias, Cavite last week.

Col. Christopher Olazo, Cavite police director, identified the policemen as Lt. Reynaldo Afable, former intelligence officer of Imus and Silang police stations; S/Sgt. Marlon Campos of the Silang police and Cpl. Armaejael Perea of the Imus police.

Olazo said the three are also facing administrative charges of grave misconduct.

Dismissed Quezon City Police District Office personnel Franklin Menor and John Carlo Machon were included in the charge sheet.

The identity of a councilor from Samar and the three other civilians, who were also charged, were withheld due to ongoing manhunt operations.

Olazo said the nine were accused of taking a vault, which contained jewelry worth P1 million from the house of businessman Abner Santos and his wife Josie in Barangay Santiago on Oct. 18.
