NLEX steps up preparations for Undas

MALOLOS, Philippines — The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Corp. will implement additional traffic management measures from Oct. 28 to Nov. 2 in anticipation of the increased traffic volume this coming All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.

The intensified operation is part of the “Safe Trip Mo Sagot Ko” motorist assistance program of the Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) to enhance expressway services for a safer and more convenient travel.

NLEX Corp. president and general manager J. Luigi Bautista said the company is projecting an increase of around 10 percent in the average daily traffic of 278,000 along NLEX, and 71,000 along the SCTEX or Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway.

Over 1,000 patrol crews, traffic marshals, security teams, incident response teams and toll lane personnel will be deployed to ensure safety and assist travelers.

Emergency medical services will also be augmented.

Motorists are encouraged to travel during non-peak hours to avoid delays and inconvenience.

Additional road safety signs and directions will be installed in strategic areas to guide motorists.
