MMDA enforces Roxas Boulevard truck ban
MANILA, Philippines — Trucks with a gross capacity weight of more than 4,500 kilos are temporarily prohibited from passing through Roxas Boulevard, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said yesterday.
The MMDA will enforce its Resolution 22-16, which sets a truck ban while the Department of Public Works and Highways is repairing segments of Roxas Boulevard, particularly in front of the United States embassy, “to avoid deterioration.”
Meanwhile, the MMDA advised drivers of trucks coming from South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) to drive straight from Osmeña Highway to Quirino Avenue, turn left to Plaza Dilao toward Quirino Extension, left on United Nations Avenue, turn right on Romualdez, turn left on Ayala Boulevard or P. Burgos Avenue, then turn right on Bonifacio Drive to their destination.
On the other hand, drivers of trucks from Port Area should turn left on P. Burgos or Ayala Boulevard, then turn right on San Marcelino, turn left on Quirino Avenue, then turn right on Osmeña Highway toward SLEX.
The MMDA did not say when the temporary truck ban will end.
