6 kilos of marijuana seized in Manila

MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics operatives seized six kilos of marijuana valued at P720,000 in Malate, Manila on Thursday.

The illegal drugs were recovered from Bonifacio Taylaran Jr., 23, who was arrested in a sting at the corner of Madre Ignacia and San Andres streets at around 10:45 p.m., National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo said.

Police also confiscated the suspect’s Toyota Innova.

Charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are being readied against Taylaran.

“The successive success of anti-illegal drug operations is part of Team NCRPO’s effective strategy to combat illegal drugs in the Metro,” Estomo said in a statement
