BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — A power outage hit the entire province of Abra yesterday when a transformer of the Abra Electric Cooperative in Bangued caught fire around noon.

Abreco general manager Loreto Seares Jr. said power was restored in lowland Abra after two hours and in Bangued at around 3:20 p.m.

Seares said electricity would be restored in the remaining areas as soon as the replacement of the gutted transformer arrives tomorrow.
