MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police has recruited 150 policewomen to beef up the PNP’s community relations program.
The non-commissioned female officers took their oath during a ceremony at Camp Crame in Quezon City on Friday.
PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin said the policewomen, who are assigned with the Police Community Affairs and Development Group (PCADG), would undergo training for six months at the National Police Training Institute at Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba City, Laguna.
After the training, the policewomen will be deployed to regional police community affairs and development units across the country.
PCADG director Col. Patrick Joseph Allan said the policewomen are graduates of communications, language and linguistics and other related courses.
The policewomen also have backgrounds in public speaking, creative writing and using social media platforms, Allan said.
