MANILA, Philippines — A motorcycle rider was injured when his vehicle and two others figured in an accident along the EDSA-Ayala Tunnel yesterday morning.
The rider, who was not named by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), was brought to a hospital for treatment.
The motorcycle ended up under the front of the bus while the sedan was rear-ended along the tunnel’s northbound lane at around 6:38 a.m., the MMDA said.
The accident resulted in heavy traffic in the area, with one lane of the highway affected.
In a statement posted on its Facebook page, the MMDA asked motorists to continue to be careful while travelling.
“With the continuous increase in the number of vehicles on the roads, it is important to be careful at all times regardless of the vehicle you are driving,” the statement read.
