DAVAO CITY, Philippines — There will be no closure of cemeteries during the observance of All Saints’ Day or Undas in this city.
The security and safety cluster is ”all systems go” for Undas and the required personnel are ready for deployment, public safety and security office head Angel Sumagaysay said.
He said his office finished crafting a security and safety plan.
“The cemeteries will be opened because at present Davao City is under Alert Level 1,” Sumagaysay said.
The city government closed all cemeteries in the last two years due to the COVID pandemic.
Sumagaysay said 13,870 security personnel would be deployed from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3 to ensure the safety of those trooping to cemeteries.
He said health and security guidelines to be observed in cemeteries are being finalized and would be released to the public.
“All is included there – the health protocols spearheaded by the city health office and... the security and safety protocols adopted by private cemeteries,” Sumagaysay said
