Fuel tanker truck hits bus; 3 dead

ABUCAY, Bataan, Philippines — Three persons died and 46 others were seriously injured when a tanker truck carrying fuel collided with a passenger bus along the Roman Highway in this town early yesterday.

Authorities identified two of the fatalities as Walter Buenaventura, driver of the Bataan Transit bus, and Reynaldo Monte, driver of the JP Express service oil tanker.

The two drivers and an unidentified tanker truck passenger died at the scene.

The injured were taken to various hospitals for treatment.

Initial investigation showed the accident occurred when the tanker truck swerved off the highway and hit the bus on the opposite lane.
