MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives has approved on third and final reading a bill creating a new barangay that will be carved out of Taguig City.

Under House Bill 4841, Tanyag Proper will be separated from Barangay Bagong Tanyag to constitute a “district and independent village to be known as Barangay Tanyag.”

Rep. Amparo Maria Zamora of the lone district of Taguig and Valenzuela Rep. Rex Gatchalian authored the measure.

“The incumbent officials of Barangay Tanyag will continue to hold office until such time that their successors have been duly elected,” the measure stated.

Barangay Tanyag will be bounded on the north by Manalac Avenue, on the east by Manila Railroad Company (Railroad Tract), on the south by Lots 8019, 8018, 8025 Case 15 Mcadm 590-D Taguig Cadastral Mapping and on the west by North Daang Hari Road and Parañaque Cadastre.

“All public infrastructure and facilities existing therein at the time of the approval of this Act are hereby transferred without cost of compensation to and shall be administered by the new barangay,” the measure read.
