Lacuna to attend world mayors summit
MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna yesterday said she would be attending the C40 World Mayors Summit to be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina this month.
In a Facebook post, Lacuna said only the local governments of Manila and Quezon City were invited to the summit.
Argentinian Ambassador Ricardo Luis Bocalandro visited Lacuna at city hall yesterday.
Lacuna and the diplomat talked about having a sister city agreement between Manila and Buenos Aires.
Bocalandro presented to Lacuna the local spots that she could visit while in Argentina for the summit.
The C40 Summit, which will be held from Oct. 19 to 21, will bring together mayors, business leaders, global influencers, philanthropists, campaigners, youth leaders, scientists and residents at a key moment ahead of COP27, to “demonstrate what a strong global coalition united on radical climate action can achieve,” according to the summit website.
