Bong Go, Bato, Robin aid Bulacan typhoon victims
MANILA, Philippines — Senators Bong Go, Ronald dela Rosa and Robinhood Padilla personally extended their support on Thursday to residents of San Miguel, Bulacan who were affected by Super Typhoon Karding.
In his speech, Go acknowledged the hard work and sacrifices made by the five rescuers of the Bulacan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office who died on duty on Sept. 26.
He offered his condolences to the families of the victims and their colleagues, saying their bravery and heroism will always be recognized.
Go co-sponsored Senate Resolution 233 honoring the five rescuers.
The senator also committed to help the families of two more Bulakeños who died during the onslaught of the typhoon.
The three senators and their teams handed out grocery packs, meals, face masks, shirts and vitamins to flood victims at the municipal gymnasium. They distributed bicycles, cellular phones, shoes, watches and balls for basketball and volleyball to select recipients.
A team from the Department of Social Welfare and Development provided financial assistance.
Meanwhile, Go encouraged Bulakeños to visit Bulacan Medical Center in Malolos City and Rogaciano M. Mercado Memorial Hospital in Sta. Maria where there are Malasakit Centers that can help them with their health-related expenses.
