MANILA, Philippines — Police have identified six Filipinos who may be involved in the killing of two Chinese in Parañaque last July, which was recorded on video.
Col. Jean Fajardo, spokesperson for the Philippine National Police, said the PNP Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies has issued a show-cause order against the suspects, who are employees of private detective companies.
“They are protection agents, security officers and security guards,” Fajardo told a press briefing at Camp Crame.
Police said the suspects were among the people seen in a viral video, which recorded the killing of Zhang Xialong and Ziyu Meng, both 30 years old, at an apartment in Marina Bay, Barangay Don Galo on July 22.
The video of the incident showed the Chinese victims being shot and stabbed multiple times.
While the suspects have licenses to exercise their security profession, police said they have no authority to be deployed by their respective agencies.
