Actor arrested for cybercrime
MANILA, Philippines — Actor Dindo Arroyo, 61, who is known for playing villain roles, was arrested for a cybercrime case in Biñan, Laguna on Tuesday.
Arroyo, Conrado Manuel Ambrosio II in real life, was apprehended in Barangay Biñan at around 6 p.m., Laguna police director Col. Randy Glenn Silvio said in a report.
Silvio did not give details about the charges the actor is facing.
Police served an arrest warrant issued by Sta. Rosa City Regional Trial Court Branch 101 Judge Rosauro Angelito David on Sept. 15 for two counts of violation of Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act. Bail was set at P20,000.
The actor was detained at the custodial facility of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Biñan.
Arroyo was among the villains in the hit television series FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
