Man, 61, nabbed for rape in Manila

MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna yesterday scolded a rape suspect accused of sexually abusing his partner’s three minor children.

Lacuna presented to media 61-year-old Gener Argales, who was the Meisic police station’s most wanted suspect for rape and acts of lasciviousness.

Argales hid for two years until he was arrested on Sept. 10 in Binondo, Manila, according to Meisic police station commander Lt. Col. Rexson Layug.

Lacuna confronted the suspect, telling him that as a mother, she found his crime “unforgivable.”

Argales allegedly raped his partner’s children aged 12, six and two.

Lacuna ordered the city social welfare department to look after the mother and the victims.
