MANILA, Philippines — Classes in Malabon City were suspended yesterday due to intermittent rain brought by the southwest monsoon or habagat.
Mayor Jeannie Sandoval ordered the suspension of afternoon classes in all levels in public and private schools in the city.
The local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council recommended the class suspension to ensure the safety of students.
Low-lying areas in Malabon were flooded yesterday, the local government said.
