Japan gives P129 million scholarship to Filipino civil servants
MANILA, Philippines — The Japanese government has committed to provide 314 million yen or almost P129 million in scholarship grants to young Filipino civil servants who will pursue graduate studies at premier universities in Japan.
Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo and Japanese Ambassador Koshikawa Kazuhiko on Friday signed an agreement for the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship.
The scholarship grant is part of Japan’s support for the Philippines’ human resource development initiatives.
The program has benefited 419 Filipino scholars since 2002.
Through this program, the beneficiaries will have the opportunity to enhance their talents and become experts in their respective fields.
“Successful aspirants will soon become part of the growing pool of talented Filipino leaders,” the Japanese embassy in Manila said.
