Couple shot dead in Sagay City

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — A man and his wife were shot dead in Sagay City, Negros Occidental on Saturday.

Simon and Hanna Grace Bukaling were declared dead on arrival at the Alfredo E. Marañon Sr. Memorial District Hospital, according to city police chief Maj. Roberto Indiape.

Police arrested the suspect, identified as Niño Andrin, 33, in a follow-up operation in Barangay Paraiso. The suspect denied killing the victims.

Probers recovered from the crime scene four bullet shells for a .45-caliber pistol.

Indiape said investigators are eyeing jealousy as the motive for the killing.
