Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — A policewoman was wounded when the gun of her fellow police officer accidentally went off at Camp Gen. Malvar in Batangas City on Friday.

M/Sgt. Suzette Dimaculangan is recuperating in a hospital from the injuries she sustained in the incident.

Probers said S/Sgt. Michael Espina was about to clean the firearm of his colleague in preparation for a scheduled inspection when he accidentally pulled the trigger. The bullet hit the floor and ricocheted toward Dimaculangan’s leg.

Espina is under investigation.
