MANILA, Philippines — Voter registration for Filipinos abroad who wish to participate in the 2025 midterm elections will resume in December.

In a resolution released on Monday, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said registration for overseas voting is from Dec. 9 to Sept. 30, 2024.

Transfer of registration records, changes in name, correction of entries in the Voters’ Registration Board, reactivation and change of address will also be accommodated.

Filipinos who live abroad or will be overseas during the voting period and 18 years old on election day may register at any Philippine post or
designated registration centers either here or abroad.

Except for dual citizens, those who lost their Filipino citizenship and have pledged allegiance to a foreign country are not allowed to register.

Also disqualified are those convicted in a final judgment for an offense punishable by imprisonment of not less than one year and ”previously declared insane or incompetent by authorities as verified by Philippine embassies, consulates or foreign service establishments concerned.”

The Comelec said applicants shall accomplish overseas voting form 1 and submit a valid Philippine passport.

In the 2025 elections, overseas voters will vote only for senators and a party-list group.
