P10.2 million shabu seized in Marikina

MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics operatives seized 1.5 kilos of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu valued at P10.2 million from a vendor in Marikina City on Monday night.

Habib Pangalain, 32, was arrested during a sting in Barangay Sino, Eastern Police District director Col. Wilson Asueta said in a text message.

Asueta said Pangalain reportedly poses as a vendor of slippers as a cover for his drug deals.

Seized from the suspect were P51,000 in marked money, which he accepted from an undercover police officer in return for a pack of shabu, and a motorcycle.

Pangalain is being held on charges of drug trafficking.

In Caloocan, Myrna Malingin and Catherine Mae Malingin were arrested with 150 grams of shabu valued at P1.02 million in a drug sting in Caloocan on Sunday.

Meanwhile, four people were arrested in a drug bust in Taguig City on Monday that yielded P136,000 worth of shabu.

Col. Kirby John Kraft said Mokamad Guiapal, 41; Jessie Loonasco, 44; Rashid Omar, 35, and Christian Ayad were caught with 20 grams of shabu and P500 in marked money. – Marc Jayson Cayabyab, Ralph Edwin Villanueva
