MANILA, Philippines — Marijuana and shabu with an estimated street value of P7.19 million were confiscated in anti-narcotics operations in Laguna, Quezon and Cebu in the past two days.

Vlogger Jerome Layson, who is known in social media platforms as Jhem Bayot, and his alleged cohorts Ginalyn Benisa and Crismark Alimagno reportedly yielded P3.75 million worth of shabu in Barangay San Isidro at around 3:18 a.m.yesterday.

The suspects allegedly sold marijuana worth P1,500 to a policeman who posed as a buyer.

Layson, a resident of Caloocan, reportedly owns an eatery, which he uses as a cover for his drug transactions.

Police said the suspects sell marijuana online to avoid being detected by law enforcers.

The suspects reportedly operate in Laguna, Quezon and Metro Manila and sell three to five kilos of marijuana per month.

In Quezon, shabu worth 1.4 million was seized from a ”high-value” drug suspect in Barangay Ibabang Dupay in Lucena City, also yesterday.

Col. Ledon Monte, Quezon police director, said Patricio Martin, who was found in possession of the illegal drugs, is a member of the Leonora drug ring.

In Talisay City, police said John Ian Amigable, 22, and Jonathan Alas-as, 25, yielded 300 grams of shabu worth P2.04 million in a sting in Barangay Dumlog on Friday.

The suspects face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
