MALOLOS, Philippines — A wanted person was killed in an alleged shootout with law enforcers in Bulacan on Friday.

Reports reaching Col. Relly Arnedo, acting Bulacan police director, identified the fatality as Antonio Rey, a resident of Barangay Biklat in San Miguel town.

Initial investigation showed law enforcers were about to serve a warrant for robbery with homicide issued by Lipa City Regional Trial Court Branch 13 Judge Noel Lindog when the suspect opened fire.

Police said a caliber .40 pistol, magazines and bullets were recovered from the fatality.

Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo, National Capital Region Police Office director, said Rey was the leader of a criminal gang tagged in several crimes in Calabarzon.

He said the suspect had other pending arrest warrants.
