MMDA enforcer hit by bus

MANILA, Philippines — A female traffic enforcer of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) was injured after being hit by a bus along EDSA yesterday.

According to the MMDA, traffic constable Reslie Vergara was hit by a bus driven by Allan Reodique, whom she tried to accost for a traffic violation.

Vergara said the bus blocked a portion of the northbound lane of EDSA along Timog Avenue at around 8 a.m.

She said she tried to get the driver’s license of Reodique but he drove off, hitting the MMDA enforcer in the process.

Reodique only stopped the bus when Vergara screamed, the MMDA said.

Vergara suffered leg injuries.

The bus driver was taken to the Kamuning Police Station 10.
