MANILA, Philippines — The government has released more than P7.7 million in assistance to victims of Severe Tropical Storm Florita in Northern and Central Luzon.
Aside from family food packs, hygiene kits, tents and other items, the victims received financial assistance, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
Florita displaced some 31,936 families from 486 barangays that were submerged in floodwaters. It left three fatalities and four injuries.
The NDRRMC said it provided assistance to typhoon victims in Ilocos region, Cagayan Valley, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), Bicol, the Cordilleras and National Capital Region.
As of yesterday, the amount of damage to infrastructure was estimated at P498.9 million in Ilocos and Cagayan Valley alone.
