MANILA, Philippines — A fire hit a portion of the Social Security System (SSS) main building in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.
In a report, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the blaze, which started at around 2 a.m., originated on the ground floor of the 12-story building.
Arson probers said the fire broke out at the electrical room of the building’s data center.
Firefighters declared the fire out at around 5:11 a.m.
The BFP said no one was reported injured during the incident. Damage to property was estimated at P700,000.
Arson investigators said they have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
