MANILA, Philippines — A Chinese man allegedly involved in the abduction and rape of two women, a Cambodian and a Vietnamese, was arrested in Pasay City on Thursday night.

Ning Yuangquiang, 34, was arrested by policemen under the supervision of Southern Police District director Col. Kirby John Kraft along Macapagal Boulevard at around 10:20 p.m.

The suspect was among the people police had been tracking down in the abduction of the women on Aug. 23.

Pasay police chief Col. Cesar Paday-os said the victims, whose identities are being withheld, were rescued from a house along Moana street rented by Ning and his companions.

The suspect was caught while in a rented Toyota Vios, the same sport utility vehicle (SUV) that was used in the abduction, he added.

Paday-os said they tracked down the suspect through the global positioning system installed by the SUV’s owner.

Seized from the suspect was a 9mm pistol and 10 grams of shabu valued at P68,000.

Charges of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition and possession of dangerous drugs are being readied against the suspect.
