Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — A special investigation task group has been created to probe the killing of four people whose bodies were found in an abandoned car in Rodriguez, Rizal on Monday.

Rizal police director Col. Dominic Baccay said the task group, which he heads, are looking for leads to identify the perpetrators.

He said two of the fatalities were identified as Carl Pabalan, 51, and Robert Ryan Amarillo, 40, residents of Lucena and Tayabas in Quezon, respectively.

The bodies of the victims, two of them women, bore gunshot wounds. No bullet shells were recovered at the scene.

A concerned citizen informed police about the vehicle, which was abandoned in a secluded area in Barangay Macabud.

Authorities said the crime could have been committed elsewhere and the bodies of the victims were dumped in Barangay Macabud to mislead investigators. -Ed Amoroso
