BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines — A policeman recently assigned in Bambang town in this province was killed in a gun attack yesterday.
Senior M/Sgt. Aldwin James, 43, had just parked his motorcycle near his boarding house in Purok 3, Barangay Homestead at around 8 a.m. when an unidentified assailant shot him several times, Maj. Frederick Ferrer, town police chief, said.
The victim was pronounced dead on arrival at the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital.
Ferrer said James, a former police intelligence officer in Davao and a resident of Baguio City, was assigned as field training officer at the Bambang police office on Monday.
Police sought the help of villagers by sharing footage of closed-circuit television cameras at the scene to shed light on the incident.
