MANILA, Philippines — A man tagged in the rape-slay of a 25-year-old woman who was dumped in a grassy lot in Muntinlupa on Tuesday was arrested on Thursday, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said yesterday.
Dionisio Alvaro, a 38-year-old scavenger, is being held on charges of rape with homicide, according to NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Felipe Natividad.
Alvaro was arrested in Barangay Sucat on Thursday at around 3:20 p.m., Southern Police District spokesperson Maj. Hazel Asilo said.
Alvaro is accused of raping and killing Ayra Mae Garcia, who was found with severe injuries along East Service Road in Barangay Sucat. She was pronounced dead on arrival at the Ospital ng Muntinlupa.
An investigation by police officers from Muntinlupa City led to Alvaro’s identification as the suspect in the killing, based on the statements of several witnesses.
The suspect was brought to the city police station for investigation.
