MANILA, Philippines — Some roads in Metro Manila were flooded following an hour-long downpour yesterday.

Before 4 p.m., the EDSA-Dario Bridge area and C-5 Road’s northbound lane in Eastwood were flooded to the gutter or four inches deep, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) reported.

The corner of C-5 Road and Eagle Avenue’s northbound lane became impassable to light vehicles after floodwaters reached six inches deep at around 1:18 p.m.

The MMDA also reported floods four inches deep at portions of EDSA, particularly in the Aurora and Shaw Boulevard tunnels, Shaw Boulevard service road’s northbound lane, Madison street’s northbound lane and the corner of C-5 Road and Ortigas Service Road’s northbound lane.

Some roads in Valenzuela were flooded since Friday night. The city government sent trucks to ferry commuters stranded along T. Santiago Road yesterday morning.

Portions of MacArthur Highway and some roads in Barangays Arkong Bato, Palasan and Dalandanan were flooded up to 10 inches deep and the Veinte Reales-Canumay West Bypass Road was under 14 inches of water.
