MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) yesterday warned its personnel against bringing cell phones to their offices while on duty.

The BuCor reminded its employees in its seven penal facilities across the country about the ban, as instructed by Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla.

“Again, this policy is strictly enforced to all BuCor employees, and no one is exempted,” the BuCor said in a statement.

A BuCor employee was caught sneaking a cell phone during a surprise inspection at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City yesterday.

The employee will face an administrative charge for the violation.
