MANILA, Philippines — Some facilities at three city-run hospitals in Manila were closed for disinfection and repairs, the Manila public information office said yesterday.
The operating rooms (ORs) of the Gat Andres Bonifacio Medical Center and the Ospital ng Tondo were closed to patients since July 22.
The Ospital ng Tondo’s OR would undergo repairs and have air-conditioners installed while Gat Andres Bonifacio Medical Center’s OR, as well as its labor room, delivery room, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and high-risk unit is scheduled for disinfection.
The Ospital ng Tondo’s OR is set to reopen today while its counterpart at the Gat Andres Bonifacio Medical Center would accept patients again on July 25.
The Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital in Binondo announced it would limit its admission of patients and medical operations at the women’s reproductive care complex, quarters, NICU and breastfeeding room from July 22 to July 26.
The facilities would be sanitized “due to the surge in the number of surgical site infections in the area,” the hospital said in a memorandum.
