Davao diarrhea outbreak death toll rises to 3
DAVAO CITY, Philippines — The death toll in the diarrhea outbreak in Toril district in this city rose to three after a 32-year-old teacher from Barangay Lubugan died from severe dehydration.
Another teacher, 67, and a 10-year-old succumbed to the disease on Tuesday.
City health office head Dr. Ashley Lopez said a diarrhea outbreak was declared in 12 barangays on Sunday.
These are in Barangays Baracatan, Bago Aplaya, Camansi, Lubogan, Toril Poblacion, Daliao, Bato, Lizada, Mulig, Tungkalan, Binugao and Crossing Bayabas.
Lopez said diarrhea cases were also reported in Barangays Alambre, Bangkas Heights, Daliaon Plantation, Eden, Sirawan, Marapangi and Baliok.
Lopez said an incident command center put up in front of the Magsaysay Elementary School will respond to the needs of residents experiencing symptoms of diarrhea and other related concerns.
