Ilocos Norte town mayor Ambrocio, 51

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Mayor Domingo Ambrocio Jr. of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte died of heart attack yesterday. He was 51.

He died while being treated at the Lorma Medical Hospital in San Fernando, La Union, according to the municipal government.

Ambrocio, a first-time mayor, was community affairs assistant under the office of the governor from 1999 to 2001 before he entered politics.

He was elected member of the Sangguniang Bayan of Nicolas from 2002 to 2010, Sangguniang Panlalawigan member from 2010 to 2013 and regained his seat as Sangguniang Bayan member from 2013 to 2019.

Ambrocio became an ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan when he was elected president of the Philippine Councilors League-Ilocos Norte chapter and became a regular board member of the provincial board from 2019 to 2022.

Vice Mayor Angel Miguel Hernando will take over the post vacated by Ambrocio.
