MANILA, Philippines — A portion of Barangay Central Signal in Taguig has been declared a danger zone following a minor landslide on Tuesday.
The city’s Public Information Office said a sari-sari or convenience store in Damayan Area was wrecked in a landslide caused by soil erosion.
While no fatalities were recorded, families living in the area were evacuated in case subsequent landslides occur.
Reports said a 17-year-old shopkeeper suffered minor injuries.
“The landslide could have been caused by constant diggings done by residents in the area and heavy rains in the past days,” the local government said.
The area has been shut down to ensure public safety.
