Man faces parricide raps for strangling wife
MANILA, Philippines — A 26-year-old man is facing charges of parricide after he strangled his wife to death in Quezon City on Tuesday.
Ralph Miguel Encinares surrendered to the Project 6 police station after the incident. He admitted killing his wife, authorities said.
According to probers, the crime occurred at the couple’s house in Barangay Alicia at around 2 a.m.
In a television interview, Encinares said he killed the victim in self-defense.
The suspect said he was awakened when the victim strangled him.
“Hindi daw siya titigil. Nung napigil ko, sinakal ko din siya,” Encinas told probers.
After the crime, Encinas brought his two children to their grandmother and turned himself in to police.
Encinares said past problems, which he did not elaborate, could be the reason for his wife’s anger.
