P900,000 shabu seized in Central Luzon stings

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — Shabu with an estimated street value of P900,000 was seized in separate stings in Bulacan and Pampanga on Saturday.

The anti-illegal drug operation in Barangay Gaya-gaya, San Jose del Monte City resulted in the arrest of Jerry dela Peña and Russel Dimapanag, according to Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay, Central Luzon police director.

Seized from the suspects were three plastic sachets said to contain shabu worth P510,000, a handgun, ammunition and weighing scale.

In Pampanga, police arrested Hasimra Saripada and Norania Maamor-Saripada following a sting in Barangay San Matias, Sto. Tomas.

Police said they seized from the suspects a plastic sachet believed to contain shabu worth P408,000 as well as  marked money and a phone.

In Nueva Ecija, an alleged major drug supplier and leader of a robbery group was arrested in Gapan City on Saturday. Marlon Salvador was arrested based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court of Gapan for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
