Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Two brothers were arrested in Quezon City on Wednesday after they allegedly stole a motorcycle from its owner and put the motorbike for sale online the same day.

Jayson Rivera, 32, and Ralph Anthony, 27, allegedly flagged down a Grab delivery rider and took his motorcycle along Republic Avenue in Barangay Holy Spirit at around 4:50 p.m., according to a report from the Quezon City Police District Station 14.

Hours later, the victim learned from co-delivery riders that his motorcycle, a Honda PCX, was posted online for sale.

The rider sought assistance from Station 14 operatives, who staged an entrapment operation.

Police also recovered another motorcycle that the suspects reportedly stole in Taytay, Rizal on June 24 as well as a .38-caliber handgun, identification cards and driver’s licenses of different persons from the brothers.

The suspects are being held on charges of violation of Republic Act 10883 or the New Anti-Carnapping Law; RA 10591, the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition; and Presidential Decree 1612, the Anti-Fencing Law.
