MANILA, Philippines — A man was arrested after he went on a shopping spree using a credit card he stole from a gym in Quezon City on Wednesday.
Joey Ramos Jr. is being held on charges of theft and violation of Republic Act 8484 or the Access Devices Regulation Act.
Lt. Col. Elizabeth Jasmin, Quezon City Police District Station 10 commander, said in an interview over GMA News that it was the second time Ramos was arrested for the same offense. The first incident happened at a Mandaluyong gym.
A report from Station 10 said Ramos went to a gym in Barangay West Triangle at around 3:30 p.m. and stole a patron’s wallet, which contained the victim’s credit cards and driver’s license, from the gym locker.
The victim said Ramos bought P14,000 worth of clothes using his credit cards.
The victim traced the suspect’s whereabouts through the transactions made on his account.
Ramos was in a coffee shop at a mall in Barangay South Triangle when police caught up with him at around 10:45 p.m.
