Gunrunning suspect nabbed in Taguig

MANILA, Philippines — A suspected gunrunner was arrested in Taguig City on Thursday, police said yesterday.

Rasil Mohammad, 37, was apprehended in an entrapment operation at the parking of a mall at the FTI Complex at around 9 p.m., according to National Capital Region Police Office director Maj. Gen. Felipe Natividad.

The suspect allegedly negotiated a deal with an undercover police officer for the firearms in his possession.

Police confiscated a .45-caliber handgun and a 9mm firearm from Mohammad.

The suspect is being held on charges of violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.

Meanwhile, one of the most wanted fugitives in Quezon City was arrested on Friday.

Jefferson Britanico, 24, was apprehended in Barangay Loyola Heights at around 12:15 p.m.

Britanico, ranked the most wanted person of the Quezon City Police District Station 9, is the subject of an arrest warrant for murder without bail.
