MANILA, Philippines — Police apprehended a suspected Abu Sayyaf bandit, who is wanted for kidnapping, at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Pasay City on Thursday night.
Hajar Binadbul Mubin, 30, had just arrived at the NAIA Terminal 3 from Malaysia when he was taken into custody at around 11:30 p.m., according to Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg.
Police said Mubin has been on the run since 2012 after the Zamboanga City Regional Trial Court Branch 15 issued a warrant for his arrest on charges of kidnapping for ransom.
The court did not recommend bail for Mubin’s temporary liberty.He is being held at the SPD jail in Taguig.
