Pangasinan arts residency program launched

Delon Porcalla - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — This year’s arts residency program for local and aspiring artists in Pangasinan has been launched.

The Anakbanwa Creative Residency program is “a platform for creatives to create context and site-specific work,” Pangasinan fourth district Rep. Christopher de Venecia, who initiated the program, said.

”The grant awardees or creatives in residence will be collaborating with a diverse cohort of local artisans, craft makers and emerging art communities in the province,” he added.

Three selected artists, who will receive a grant of P100,000, will conduct research and immerse themselves in creative communities, experience cultural heritage and learn from diverse artistic practices.

Participants will be based in Tondaligan Beach, a tourist destination along Lingayen Gulf in Dagupan City.

Applications are open until July 18 for those in audiovisual media, design, creative services, visual arts, performing arts and digital interactive media.
