Drunk driver held for 5-vehicle smashup

MANILA, Philippines — Police took into custody a motorist who allegedly rammed several vehicles in Parañaque City on Friday night.

The driver of a red sedan, who was allegedly drunk, hit another sedan and three motorcycles along Roxas Boulevard. The drivers of the other vehicles sustained minor injuries.

Maj. Hazel Asilo, spokesperson for the Southern Police District, said no other details about the incident were available, including the name of the driver, who was released after the other motorists opted for an amicable settlement. GMA News identified the driver as Anthony Serna.

In a text message, Asilo said the offending driver would pay for damages.
