MANILA, Philippines — Las Piñas Mayor Imelda Aguilar has vowed to focus more on rendering health services to constituents as she was sworn into office for her term as the city’s chief executive.
Aguilar said administering COVID-19 vaccines to residents is among her priorities.
Aguilar and her daughter, Vice Mayor April Aguilar, were sworn into office by Las Piñas Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Elizabeth Yu-Garay on Thursday.
Aguilar is optimistic the city council will work even harder and continue to pass resolutions and ordinances in making the city more progressive.
She added that the services and programs that her administration had initiated will still continue but the city government needs to double its efforts.
Olivarez vows clean government
Parañaque Mayor Eric Olivarez yesterday vowed a “God-centered leadership” as he started his term as the city’s chief executive.
“God-centered leadership. A clean government is important,” he said during a thanksgiving party.
Olivarez vowed to outdo the achievements of his brother, former mayor Edwin Olivarez, who is now the city’s first district representative in Congress.
He lauded his brother, who got the city out of a P4-billion debt to a banking institution and contractors.
Olivarez said the city now has P7.2 billion in savings that can be used to fund projects.
