Woman shot dead in Antipolo

MANILA, Philippines — A woman was shot dead in Antipolo City in Rizal on Monday in what police said was a case related to illegal drugs.

Maricar Turla was walking along an alley in Barangay San Isidro when she was shot at around 9:10 p.m.

Probers said two men, who are unidentified, approached Turla and one of them shot the victim in the forehead.

Turla was pronounced dead on arrival at the Antipolo District Hospital, where a concerned citizen brought her.

Probers are looking into the proliferation of illegal drugs in Turla’s village as the motive for the killing.

Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
