MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Isko Moreno is bidding goodbye to city hall employees as mayor-elect Honey Lacuna takes her oath today.
Lacuna will be sworn in at the Manila Cathedral, according to the city public information office.
During his last flag-raising ceremony on Monday, Moreno called on city hall employees to continue serving Manila under Lacuna’s term.
He also urged the employees to support the incoming administration of president-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Moreno said he would still help the city even as a private citizen.
Moreno, a one-term mayor who also served three terms as councilor then vice mayor, said he would retire from politics after he lost in the presidential race.
